  • 1 cup (250 milliliters) water
  • 3/4 cup (175 milliliters) sugar
  • 1/4 cup (60 milliliters) honey
  • 1/4 teaspoon (1 milliliter) Cardamom Ground
  • 3/4 teaspoon (4 milliliters) Ground Cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup (125 milliliters) dry hibiscus flowers
  • 4 cups (1 liter) cold seltzer water Substitution Available
    • cold club soda

Preparation

  • 1 Place 1 cup (250 ml) water, sugar, honey, cardamom and cinnamon in a small saucepan. Bring mixture to boil, stirring occasionally. Reduce heat to low. Stir in hibiscus flowers; simmer 20 minutes. Remove from heat. Allow mixture to cool slightly. Strain through a fine mesh sieve lined with cheesecloth to remove flowers. Cool completely or refrigerate until ready to serve.
  • 2 Mix syrup with cold seltzer. Serve over ice in beverage glasses. Garnish with cinnamon stick, if desired.
