Everything Mac & Cheese

What could possibly make homemade mac and cheese any better? Everything Bagel Seasoning! Mixed into both cheese sauce and sprinkled on top with crunchy onions, this dish is the ultimate in comfort food.

  • 1/2 cup (113 grams) butter
  • 1/4 cup (60 mililiters) all-purpose flour
  • 3 cups (750 mililiters) milk
  • 1 package (250 grams) cream cheese
  • 2 cups (500 mililiters) smoked Gouda cheese , shredded
  • 1 cup (250 mililiters) Cheddar cheese , shredded
  • 5 tablespoons (75 mililiters) Everything Bagel with Sesame Seed and Onion , divided
  • 16 ounces (450 grams) small shell pasta , cooked
  • 1 cup (250 mililiters) French's® Fried Onion Crunchy Toppers


  • 1 Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Melt butter in large saucepan on medium heat. Sprinkle with flour. Cook and stir 2 minutes.
  • 2 Slowly add milk, whisking constantly. Bring to a boil. Cook 3 minutes, stirring constantly, until mixture thickens. When mixture is thick enough to coat the back of a spoon, stir in cream cheese, Gouda, Cheddar, and 4 tablespoons (60 ml) of the Seasoning. Simmer, stirring consistently, until cheese is completely melted.
  • 3 Add cooked pasta to cheese sauce and stir gently to mix. Transfer mixture to 13x9-inch (33x23-cm) baking dish. Bake until golden brown and bubbly, about 20 to 25 minutes.
  • 4 Meanwhile, mix Fried Onion Crunchy Toppers and remaining 1 tablespoon (15 ml) Seasoning in a small bowl. Remove mac & cheese from oven; sprinkle with seasoned onions. Bake for 5 minutes longer, just until onions begin to brown.
