  • 1 pound (500 grams) ground beef
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 cup (40 grams) panko bread crumbs
  • 2 tablespoons (30 mililiters) plus 1/2 tsp (2ml) Black Garlic Seasoning , divided
  • 4 slices smoked Gruyere cheese
  • 2 cups (500 mililiters) arugula
  • 4 hamburger rolls , toasted
  • 1 1/2 cups (375 mililiters) cremini mushrooms
  • 1/3 cup (75 mililiters) sliced white onion
  • 2 tablespoons (30 mililiters) canola oil

Preparation

  • 1 Preheat grill on medium-high heat. Mix ground beef, egg, panko, 2 tablespoons (30ml) of the Black Garlic Seasoning and salt in medium bowl until well blended. Shape into 4 patties. Set aside.
  • 2 Heat oil in large cast iron skillet on grill. Add mushrooms, onion and remaining 1/2 teaspoon (2ml) Black Garlic Seasoning. Cook and stir 4 to 5 minutes, or until softened and lightly browned. Set aside; keep warm.
  • 3 Grill burgers 6 to 8 minutes per side or until desired doneness, adding cheese slices to burgers during last 2 minutes of cooking.
  • 4 To serve, divide arugula and place on bottom half of toasted rolls. Add burgers and top with sautéed mushrooms and onions. Serve with desired toppings and condiments.
