  • 1 large head cauliflower , about 1 pound (500g)
  • 1 large red onion , cut into 1/2-inch (1-cm) thick slices
  • 2 cups (500 milliliters) cremini mushrooms
  • 1/2 cup (120 milliliters) Montreal Steak Spice 30-minute Marinade
  • 2 tablespoons (45 milliliters) fresh lemon juice

Preparation

  • 1 Remove outer leaves from cauliflower and trim stem slightly, making sure to leave core intact. Cut cauliflower from top to bottom (stem-end) into about five 1/2-inch (1-cm) thick steaks.
  • 2 Mix Marinade and lemon juice in small bowl. Reserve 2 tablespoons (30ml) for basting; set aside. Brush cauliflower steaks with about 1/2 of the remaining marinade mixture, coating evenly on both sides. Toss onion and mushrooms with remaining marinade mixture. Marinate veggies 30 minutes.
  • 3 Grill mushrooms, onion and cauliflower steaks over medium-high heat until tender and lightly charred, about 8 to 10 minutes, turning occasionally and basting with reserved marinade. To serve, top cauliflower steaks with grilled mushroom and onions.
